Believe it or not those amazing scrunchies from the 90’s are back. When my daughter

asked me to make her one I was thrilled.

These are made with super soft velvet yarn. I think you will really enjoy them

Supply list:

  • Bernat velvet yarn approx. 20 grams
  • Size J 6mm hook
  • 1 elastic hair band
  • Needle
  • Scissors

Key:

Ch-Chain

St- Stitch

Dc-Double crochet

SC-Single crochet

Slst-slip stitch

 Notes:

This scrunchie is made flat then you seam it up around the hair band.

This is a beginner pattern and only takes about 30 mins to make.

Pattern

Chain 44

Row 1: ,Dc in 2nd ch from hook , sc, * Dc,sc* repeat until the end. (42)

Rows 2-4: Ch 1, *DC, SC* repeat * * until end.

-the more rows you make the bigger the scrunchie.

Next wrap your work around the elastic hair band  and you will begin to seam up the sides with a slst.

Once you have seemed it up completely you will  cut 5” tail.

Then you will take your needle and you will connect the two ends.

Secure with a knot  and weave  in ends,  your scrunchie is complete.

I hope you enjoy this pattern I would love to see all your amazing scrunchies
