This graph shows you the layout of this vest. You will be starting from the bottom creating the body of the vest, and we will split towards the middle to start creating the front and back panels. *The front panels are NOT going to truly be in the shape of a triangle, just there to show you that we will be decreasing on both sides to create a triangular form.*
Gauge: 2 inch by 2 inch
7 DC wide by 3 DC rows high.

Special Note
Your Ch 3 will count as a DC through out this pattern. Your Ch 4 will count as a TRC through this pattern. Your Ch 5 will count as a TRC and Ch 1 through out this pattern. You will turn your work after every row.

Going back to the row with the unworked stitches, Skip 1 st or ch 1 space and attach your yarn in the next st. Starting from the stitch you just attached your yarn to, count 42 (52, 62, 72) sts and place your stitch maker there.

Repeat Rows 1-8 until you reach Row 10 (14, 18, 19), then Tie off.
Going back to the Row with the unworked stitches, you will skip 1 st, or Ch 1 sp, and attach your yarn to the next st. Then go back to the “FRONT PANEL” instructions and follow them again to create your second front panel.
Once you have completed all the panels we will go to assembly.
Assembly
You will need your yarn needle for this part!
For this part we will need to attach the two front panels to the back panel to create a “shoulder seam”. You can use whatever attaching method you prefer (whip stitch, mattress stitch etc.)
First lay your garment flat.
Then fold your front panel on TOP of your back panel. Lining up both edges.

Use your yarn tail and needle to seam through those top 6/10 sts. Then repeat these steps for the other Front Panel.
Optional Fringe Instructions:

1- Find a book, dvd case, anything that you will be able to wrap your yarn around. Keep in mind the width of that item will be how long your fringe will be.
2- Wrap your yarn around once, holding the end down with your thumb.
3- Continue wrapping it around for a total of 200 wraps.
4- Turn to the side and cut the strings in half.
You will now have 200 strings to use as your fringe. * You may have to repeat these for more string depending on the size you are making.*
Attaching the Fringe
1- Grab two pieces of string, and your crochet hook. Line up the two pieces of string, then fold in half.
2- Find the first DC from the first Row, insert your hook. Loop the folded strings around your hook, and pull them through the stitch.
3- You will now have a little loop. Wrap the 4 strings around your hook, and pull them through the bottom loop.
4- Pull tightly to secure your knot.
5- Keep repeating these steps skipping one stitch in-between.
Weave in any and all loose ends…
