Materials
Size 4 Worsted Weight Yarn. I used “Red Heart Soft”
Approx. 160 yards of yarn.

Should measure 2X2 inches
Notes
This headband is worked flat in rows and seamed together at the end.
The pattern is written for adult size heads. Fits 20-22 inches.

Crochet Celtic Cabled Headband Pattern
CH 20
Row 1: HDC in 2nd CH from your hook. HDC in each CH across. (19)
Row 2: CH 1, HDC in each st across. (19)
Row 3: CH 1, HDC in first st, *FPtrc around the next 2 sts 2 rows below, Skip 2 sts after the last HDC made, HDC in next st.* Repeat * * across.

Row 4: CH 1, HDC in each st across. (19)
Row 5: CH 1, HDC in first st, *skip the next 3 sts, FPDtrc in each of the next 2 FPtrc 2 rows below, skip 2 sts after the last hdc made, hdc in next st. Working in FRONT of the last 2 FPDtrc just made, FPDtrc in each of the last 2 skipped FPtrc 2 rows below. Skip 2 sts after the last idc HDC in next st. made, HDC in next st. * Repeat * * across.


Row 6: CH 1, HDC in each st across. (19)
Row 7: CH 1, HDC in first st, FPtrc in each of the nest 2 FPDtrc 2 rows below, skip 2 sts after last HDC made, HDC in next st, *skip the next 3 sts, FPDtrc in each of the next 2 sts 2 rows below, skip 2 sts after the last HDC made, HDC in next st, working BEHIND the last 2 FPDtrc just made, FPDtrc in each of the last 2 skipped FPDtrc 2 rows below, skip 2 sts after the last HDC made, HDC in next st* Repeat * * once. Row 8: CH 1, HDC in each st across. (19)
Repeat Rows 4-8 until Row 62 (or until your headband reaches 19-20 inches in length.Be sure to end on a HDC across row.) Tie off leaving a long tail.
Seaming
To connect your headband together, fold your headband in half to line up your two ends.
Make sure they are lined up stitch for stitch.
Grab your yarn needle and thread your long tail through.
Whip stitch through both of your sides, stitch by stitch.
Knot at the end, and weave in your tail.

Now you are finished!
