Brim is worked flat in rows, them seamed together
Body of hat is worked in the round
Ch 2 does NOT count as stitch

Crochet Santa Hat Pattern
Brim
Using Faux Fur Yarn and 8mm Crochet Hook
CH 8
Row 1: HDC in the 2nd CH from hook. HDC in each CH across. (6)
Row 2: CH 1, HDC in each st across. (6)
Repeat Row 2 until your brim reaches 22 inches in length. (Approx 30 rows) [Brim width measures approx. 3.5 inches]
Seam
Fold brim so both short ends are lined up.
Going through both sides and slip stitch the edges together. Going stitch for stitch, for a total of 6 sl st.
Tie off.

Body
Using Worsted Weight Yarn and 5mm Crochet Hook
Attach yarn to any stitch around the top of the brim.
Ch 2, and place 2 DC in each stitch around or evenly place DC around until you reach 60 DC.
Rounds 2-6: CH 2. DC in each st around. Sl St to beginning CH 2. (60)

Create a magic cirlce, place 4 HDC in circle.
Round 2: Place 2 HDC in each st around. (8)
Round 3: HDC DEC in each st around. (4)
Tie off , using yarn tail from ball to tie onto the end of your hat.
