Construction

Main Pumpkin

Using your yarn needle, and very long tail to create 6 “bumps” on your pumpkin.

I thread my needle through the center point of the bottom or top of my pumpkin, going out and around, and through the opposite center point.

We have 48 stitches at our widest part, so I count every 8 stitches to figure out where to place my next line of yarn.

Be sure to pull your yarn tight to really pronounce those bumps!

Repeat this until you have a total of 6 bumps.

Cut your tail, and weave it in!

Mini Pumpkins

Using your yarn needle, and very long tail to create 4 “bumps” on your pumpkin.

I thread my needle through the center point of the bottom or top of my pumpkin, going out and around, and through the opposite center point.

We have 25 stitches at our widest part, so I count every 5 stitches to figure out where to place my next line of yarn.

Be sure to pull your yarn tight to really pronounce those bumps!

Repeat this until you have a total of 4 bumps.

Do not cut your yarn tails! We are going to use them to sew on the mini pumpkins to the main pumpkin.

Adding the “ears”

Now to create the “Ears”

We are going to place our two mini pumpkins within one of our bump sections. In the chart above I show how I placed mine.

I have two bumps in the front, and two bumps in the back.

Take the yarn tail from your mini pumpkin, thread it through your yarn needle, and place your mini pumpkin in the bump section of your main pumpkin.

Try to put half of the mini pumpkin on the top of the bump and the other half on the side as shown in the photos.

Use your needle to go through the base of your mini pumpkin and attach it to your main pumpkin using a whip stitch. Go around the whole base of your mini pumpkin until it is fully secured.

Tie off, and weave in your tail.

Repeat for the other side.

Stems

You can grab whatever materials you are using for your pumpkin stems, and hot glue or attach them however you see fit to all three pumpkins.

I used half a cinnamon stick for my main pumpkin, and 1/4 of a cinnamon stick for my two mini pumpkins. I secured them with hot glue.

That’s it, friends! I hope you enjoyed this free crochet pumpkin pattern!
