Materials
Hook: 8 mm L Hook
Yarn: Size 3 weight Cotton Yarn or Cotton Blend Yarn
Yarn Brand Options: Lion Brands “Coboo” or “Truboo”. Bernat “Softee Baby Cotton”. Patons “Hempster”
(I used Carron Cotton Angel Cakes for sample cardi, it is categorized as a size 4 cotton blend yarn- however its rather thin and I would put it in the size 3 category.)
Other: Yarn Needle, 1 Stitch Marker & Scissors

CH- Chain
SC- Single Crochet
HDC- Half Double Crochet

Special Stitch:
SCL- Shell Cluster- *DC, CH 1* repeat * * 6 times in same stitch. (7 DC, 6 CH 1 sps total)

Front and Back Panel
CH 66 (82, 106, 122, 138)
Row 1: HDC in 2nd CH from hook, HDC in each st across. 65 (81, 105, 121, 137)
Row 2: CH 1, SC in first st, *sk 3 sts, SCL in next st, sk 3 sts, SC in next* repeat * * across.
8 (10, 13, 15, 17) Shell Clusters Total
Row 3: CH 4, *SC in the 2nd CH 1 sp, CH 1, SC around next CH 1 sp, CH 3, SC around next

Construction
The pink rectangle represents the front/back panel. The solid black line represents the “split” for the neck opening.
The pink rectangle represents the back panel. The black rectangles represent your front panels. The red dotted lines represent where you will be seaming your pieces together.
Lay your back panel flat.
Lay your front panels on top of the back panel, lining up your corners. You will have a small gap in between this will be for your neck opening. Be sure the first row (hdc row) is at the bottom of all pieces.
Seam shoulders- use yarn needle and yarn, whip stitch starting from outer corner (where green circle is) line up stitch for stitch with back panel. Seam across. Repeat for other front panel.
Seam sides-Take stitch marker and measure 9 (10, 10, 11, 12, 14) inches down from the the top corner (where green circles are) and place stitch marker.
Use yarn needle and yarn, starting at the bottom corner working upward until you reach the stitch marker. Repeat for other side.
